30ft Kraken Rum Cake Tentacle

On Friday 13th September a 30ft long tentacle was recovered from Port Meirion beach by an intrepid ‘Kraken Hunter’, and taken to The Kraken Rum tent at Festival No. 6 where it was served to hungry festival goers as means of disposal. This is the first time in living memory detailed examination of Kraken anatomy has taken place with food artists, The Tattooed Bakers, identifying the flesh as a rich spiced dark rum soaked fruit cake.

Wearing full protective clothing, the Kraken Hunter then proceeded to serve the remains to a hungry crowd who had witnessed the recovery of the tentacle earlier in the day. Legend has it eating the flesh of Kraken will leave those who consumed it with special powers and a distinguished taste in rum.

What is more further remains of the Kraken (a beast previously thought to be mythological) have been recovered by UK based ‘Kraken Hunters UK’, a The Kraken Rum supported organization only for the most brave and intrepid individuals. Large chunks of flesh, including an intact football sized eyeball,  have been found in the Thames Estuary with an autopsy scheduled to find out more.

We can also confirm All Mine Patisserie is another name firmly on the contributing food artists list for ‘Feed The Beast’. We just had to share a few previews of these jaw dropping incredible life-sized The Kraken Rum flavored chocolate (purposefully dead looking) body parts. We’re pretty confident in laying down the gauntlet and saying that these will be the best liqueur chocolates you will ever see, plus of course being made with a dark spiced rum means they taste amazing.

Bristol Stool Sample Cake

Amazing cake from Claire Ratcliffe – what I really like is whilst the subject matter is gross it also really shows off her piping skills at the same time!

MISS CAKEHEAD

I know that every agency says they work with the best talent but when it comes to our edible installation work I am pretty darn sure we can’t be beaten – this incredible cake from core team memember Annabel de Vetten (of Conjurer’s Kitchen) a case in point as to the outstanding talent of our team.

Created for Birmingham’s Shock And Gore festival, this cake replicates Buffalo Bill’s female skin suit from The Silence of the Lambs. Just yet another example of this incredible food artist’s work who also created THAT Dexter cake for our Fox Entertainment client which trended on Twitter and was even shown to Michael C Hall himself on a US network chat show Jimmy Kimmel. Oh and in case you were wondering it’s vanilla cake, with dark chocolate ganache and black cherry filling.

UPDATE: See Michael C Hall discussing the Dexter cake live on Jimmy Kemmell below (01:30 onwards)

“It goes beyond what Dexter himself would do”

There are no words to describe how much I loved working on this amazing Dexter Series 8 project, and what an honour to help launch the final ever series of something I am a HUGE fan of. Needless to say Annabel nailed the Dexter cake she was asked to make for the project – her talent astonishes me.

Here’s the press release:

Life sized cake replica of Dexter created (and sliced up) to mark the start of the final series, Sunday 7th July at 9pm First on FOX.

To celebrate the final series of Dexter starting on FOX, the entertainment channel has given media a slice of his life – literally! A full sized Dexter cake – created by food artist Annabel de Vetten –…
