So Feed The Beast 2013 is open and there are so many amazing cakes it would be impossible to fit them into just one post. Thought it would be a good place to start with the showstopper cake by The Tattooed Bakers (see bottom image) – a Devil Horse cake dripping in rum, literally. The beast had Kraken Rum pouring from it’s nose into a font which was surrounded by skulls. It was cut open by the mighty Kraken Hunter and guests at the opening party were invited to help themselves to it’s red velvet cake insides, and those who wanted a top up could simply place their glass under the stream for supply of The Kraken Rum. It took Eddie & Rich over 200 hours to complete, shown in the stunning attention to detail.

Beetle & WILDE – Deadly Design

An abosolutely key part of The Kraken Rum Edible Autopsy event last week were Beetle & WILDE who are incredibly stylish macabre interior stylists and whose work I much share with you all. They created stunning sets on both the X-Pilot and in the local pub, Yes the Black Ink Society was in fact the Old House At Home, a Queenbrough local pub, with the Beetle & Wilde touch.

Best of all they are also have an awesome shop so you can also by some of the pieces the incredible Caz has sourced in her carefully curated online store. I was blown away with their attention to detail as was everyone on the trip. She has sold a taxidermy fox and a skeleton before we even left the location and has been comissioned to course other items including a stuffed pike (don’t ask)!

Away from the project their items they source for customers, sell in their shop, and use in their designs are equally as stunning.

Feed The Beast opens in a matter of days so we are getting more and more images of the finished cakes which will go on sale. The big news is that thanks to The Tattooed Bakers vagina dentata cupcakes will be on sale again for the first time since 2010. Costing £3.50 each I predict they will be one of our biggest sellers. Needless to say if you want one of these beasts on your Halloween table you need to get there early!

The strap line for these cakes: “As friendly as a bulldog and as much fun to kiss”

Our latest project for The Kraken Rum, Proximo. Following on from this Feed The Beast shop opens next week and I can not wait!!! For now here are details of The Edible Autopsy which took place yesterday:

The Kraken Rum Edible Autopsy

Feast On The Corpse of a Kraken 9 Miles Out to Sea

The infamous Miss Cakehead has teamed up with THE KRAKEN RUM to create a POP UP RUM BAR and EDIBLE AUTOPSY in view of ABANDONDED MILITARY SEA FORTS

The Black Ink Society, a Kraken Rum supported research team, has recovered and secured the remains of a Kraken found off the North Kent coast. It has now been revealed that an autopsy on the remains took place aboard the Kraken Hunting sea vessel X-Pilot in view of Redsand Forts where the beast was found – 9 miles off the coast of Kent in the Thames estuary…
